Dear Friends and Art Lovers,

On behalf of Studio 3, at 1292 Hidden Valley Road, I would like to extend you a personal invitation to the Art in Action 12th Annual Burlington Studio Tour on Saturday November 1st and Sunday November 2nd, from 10am to 5pm each day.

Our tour provides Burlington residents the opportunity to enjoy a weekend outing where they can view and purchase a variety of one-of-a-kind art works, including Stained Glass, Painting, Jewellery, Woodturning, Photography, Quilting, Sculpture, Glass Fusion, Glass Mosaic, Ceramics and Blacksmith Artistry, directly from our 34 local artists in 9 studios across Burlington.

The Burlington Studio Tour is a non-profit organization, and this year is presenting a scholarship of $1.500.00 dollars to new young artist chosen from our local high schools, who you will also find participating on the tour.

You can enter a prize draw of $200.00 and $100.00 dollars towards the purchase of an art piece from the participating artist of your choice. Please come and join us and meet some of the best artists and artisans Burlington has to offer as they demonstrate their skills.

This self-guided tour is free and open to the public. A map is including in the brochure.

For more information log on to: www.artinaction.ca or call 905-510-5030.

Please take time to read through this beautiful brochure designed by our coordinator and stained glass artist, Teresa Seaton. It provides detailed contact information for each artist including websites, which is a good way for you to plan ahead map out your tour route.

A tour preview will take place at the Burlington Art Gallery on Sunday October 19, 2 - 4 pm.  You are welcome to come and see a collective exhibit of all 34 artists.

On a personal note, this year I will be presenting seven distinct collections: Agape, Age of Aquarius, Venetian Mardi Gras, Sunflowers, Christian Art, Butterfly’s and Algonquin Landscapes. The work represents several techniques including oil, acrylic mixed media and works sealed in fine artistic resin, suitable for the outdoors in your gardens and cottages, this collection is made to withstand direct sun light, rain, extreme heat or cold without affecting the art piece.

During the tour, I will be demonstrating two painting technique workshops at 1pm each day at my studio: Saturday - Wet on Wet techniques in acrylic on canvas, and Sunday - Use of raw pigments and mineral mica mix with acrylic paint on canvas and wood.

In addition, there will be a silent auction of one of my new pieces, with the funds going to support victims of the Burlington flood.

With sincere kindness,
